The first day of winter 2014/11/7

In Japanese calendar, we have first days of 4 seasons respectively which are decided by the annual movement of the sun. This year, November 11th is the first day of winter and winter has just begun in Japan. However most Japanese mountains and fields will have best season for watching colored leaves, which is leading autumn scenery in Japan, in mid or late November.  Actually it is not too cold and we are still in autumn.

Probably it is Japanese tendency to take seasons in advance. To take things in advance is considered to be smart, however to be behind seasons is regarded as being unrefined.

Therefore it is very important task for artists and cultivated person to enjoy seasons in advance and it is possible to find many signs of winter such as snowfall in high mountains, frost of early morning, shorting daytime, chill of late evening and so on.

Winter has come and we have lots of seasonal events, delicious winter foods and beautiful scenery.

It is our joy to have 4 beautiful seasons and it is our pride that each season has own brightness and tremendous blessings.
